Recently, under the "SINOHYDRO" brand, POWERCHINA signed a contract with Direction du Génie Militaire (the Military Engineering Authority) of Mauritania for the on/off-grid microgrid power supply project for the SP0 and SP1 pumping stations in the Dhar region of Mauritania. Jiangxi Electric Power Construction Corporation Ltd. (JEPCC), as the EPC contractor, will undertake the full-cycle construction of the project. This contract marks another significant achievement for JEPCC in its deep cultivation of the African regional market. It fully demonstrates JEPCC's technical expertise in the microgrid sector and excellent project execution capabilities, achieving a "zero breakthrough" for the company in the Mauritanian market. Located in Néma, Mauritania, the project is a crucial energy-supporting initiative to ensure stable regional water supply. It involves the construction of a microgrid with a total capacity of 4.65 MW of photovoltaic and 8.6 MWh of energy storage. The core objective of this microgrid solution is to support the stable daily water supply of 20,000 cubic meters from the pumping stations, enhance the continuity of energy services, and optimize operational costs. Upon completion, the project will significantly improve the security and stability of the pumping stations' energy supply, strengthen the risk resilience of the water supply system, and provide solid support for regional development. Throughout the construction and operational phases, the project will create local job opportunities, foster the development of local talent, and contribute to Mauritania's energy transition and carbon reduction goal realization. | |
